Welcome to another seasonal blog hop with this group of talented ladies! If you’ve come from Kyie with Truman’s Treasures beautiful blog I’m sure you enjoyed her fun and easy fall inspo! There are a few simple steps to making your transition from summer to fall an easy one. Of course it helps if fall colors work somewhat with your current color scheme like they do here. I have rust (or terracotta) in my everyday decor so that helps when trying to roll in a little fall.
Like these rust colored throws for example. I leave these out year round except for Christmas when I switch to either green (which is also in my color scheme) or Christmas red.
But, the fun thing is…..as the fall season arrives all I have to do is flip these throws to the pumpkin design that’s already sewn into them.
Can you see it now?
It is a panel sewn on at the bottom with a series of pumpkins and the words “Pumpkin Everything”. Can’t get much easier than that can it? It would be a simple DIY to create a seasonal panel that could be tacked on to any blanket to create a fall look.
And, did you notice the fliparroo with the pillows? I used the same pillows with fall pillow covers. Easy, breezy change. I keep them stored in the chest you see behind the far chair. This way they’re ready to roll when I’m ready to bring on the fall.
Pillow cases are my new obssession!
Easy to store and provides such an easy way to celebrate and decorate for the different seasons.
Love that!
They store flat and don’t take up much room at all. So easy to pop them on my pillows and enjoy the new seasonal theme. And when Thanksgiving arrives I can flip these pillows to the other side, because they are reversible. Even better.
As we get deeper into the fall season I’ll be adding fall foliage to my mantle like you see here and I’ll simply sprinkle pumpkins around the house. Oh and notice the witches legs in my flower arrangment on the wall? Just a little added Halloween humor. Lolol.
Next….it’s an easy transition to take from this end of summer table display above right into fall with just a few simple touches.
Just by adding simple Dollar Tree pumpkins to each of these bowls and we’re off to a great fall start. I purchased 4 orange pumpkins and 2 green ones for each end. Once they were added I had a “fall” table. But, of course I didn’t stop there. I added just a few more details.
I added some fall foliage that I already had on hand. It was stored in my storage shed which meant it was easy to grab without trying to climb up into the attic. Hooray for that! I simply added it to the same table centerpiece I had set up for end of summer and fall was even more of a theme here.
Next I added some to my flower arrangement, mixing it in with my yellow.
Then I added some of these orange grapes I had on hand, tucking them in on each side.
And, that was it.
Literally a few added details to the exact same table and it was all it took for the fall tranformation. And since all I had to buy was the pumpkins all that was spent was around $8.00.
As for my buffet and hutch….this is a photo from last year. All it takes to transform this is the addition of my fall foliage and my pumpkin colored plates from Dollar Tree.
I love the warmth of fall colors and absolutely LOVE decorating my home in these colors. Some of my rooms I keep predominantly white and neutral, but in my family room and kitchen I love to go all out with these beautiful fall colors.
As you can see here it doesn’t require a lot of money or a ton of “stuff”. Just a few simple details like the reversible fall throw, the pillow covers, inexpensive pumpkins and some fall foliage.
Very little time and not a lot of money.
Just the way we like it.
