I did a post recently about the hanging centerpiece I made for my screened in porch.
It is one of my favorite projects of 2020, because not only was it easy to make….it’s super fun to decorate with the seasons. If you’d like to see the original post click here or scroll back a couple of posts.
The fun thing about it is how easy it is to change it’s personality.
In October I switched the greenery out for fall foliage and some Halloween decor. I removed most of the original greenery, but kept the lanterns. Then I added my fall foliage and the jack-o-lantern votives and voila!
A whole new personality.
I love fall and all this fall foliage just made the patio so cozy. Of course switching out the table centerpiece floral to a fall look contributed to the cozy vibe as well as my fall dishware.
So much fun to do.
The next change came during our annual family staycation. (Which I will be blogging about soon as well) The theme for our Saturday night dinner was “Napa Valley/Wine Country” with a wine tasting and food pairing experience for dinner. So if you look closely you can see that I added some grapes from the hanging centerpiece to contribute to my “wine theme”. It was still the month of October so I left the Halloween decor up as well, but it was easy to add the grapes for a little wine country oomph.
And, of course when Christmastime rolled around it was time to change it again! Fun!
So off came the fall foliage and up went the garland and Christmas goodies. I topped the hanging centerpiece with garland and added some to drape underneath as well.
To each lantern I placed a sprig of greenery then I added some fun red and white ornaments and my Christmas tree sign.
Above the centerpiece I added a red sleigh, some large candy canes, some red and white berries and more of the red and white ornaments.
As you can see the personality changes dramatically with the theme which makes it so fun to decorate. I’ve enjoyed this Christmas theme so much this last month, but now it’s time for another change.
All this will be taken down and put away until next year. And, out will come my previous greenery with maybe a few more additions.
And, as much as I hate to see the magic of Christmas put away for another year….I’m looking forward to another new look I can create for my hanging centerpiece.
Happy Decorating my friends and a very safe and Happy New Year!
