A HAPPY 35TH ANNIVERSARY IN ANGELFIRE!

 

Just like last year I had the privilege of spending my wedding anniversary with my hubby and friends in my favorite place on earth……Angelfire, New Mexico.  An action packed week of laughs, shopping, hiking, good food, good wine and good friends.

And like last year my husband brought his Harley so we could enjoy riding through the mountainside.

One of our all time favorite things to do.

And, of course we set up spots in the woods each night replete with wine and appetizers in search of Elk…..just like last year….

 

On our actual anniversary we started out the day with a two hour hike on Elliot Barker Trail….

He even picked me some Happy Anniversary wild flowers….

That’s my guy……so sweet….

Our friends were there to celebrate with us….

And, together we enjoyed the amazing hike, the beauty and the crisp cool air.

When the hike was over it was onto a saloon in Eagle’s Nest called Laguna Vista that dates back to 1897.

 So fun!

More celebrating, more laughs, more good food, good drinkin’ and good friends.

Our cute little waitress, Patty, took a likin’ to us and gave us a private tour of the old time “brothel” next door.  Apparently it’s haunted and inhabited by 20 or so spirits (according to Patty) and a great many ghosts have been seen lurking about the place.

She showed us some of the original clothes worn back at the turn of the century…

Explained how many pictures of the mirrors at odd angles show ca-reepy things lurking in the background.

Like the creepy face in the lower right hand corner of this mirror. Eeeek!!   Just kidding….that creepy face is actually my own reflection, but we didn’t realize it at first and it freaked us all out and had us screaming.  Ha!  I know – what dorks!  But see the creepy shadow in the back of the mirror?…….Just sayin’…….hmmmm…..

And, apparently, according to Patty, some of the rooms are so haunted that people “sensitive” to ghosts won’t even go into them. 

Yep…..ca-reeeeeep-yyyyyy.

But, for those brave enough, they now will do private dinner parties in some of the rooms.

Something we surely would have planned for our anniversary dinner had we known.

Oh well…..there’s always next year.
