For the second year in a row my trip to Angelfire has fortunately been over Labor Day Weekend which means another wonderful tour of homes in the mountains. I mean, can you think of anything cooler than that?! Okay, so maybe there are other cooler things out there, but when you’re an interior designer that’s right up there at the top of the list.
One of my favorite builders last year and this year is Eric Hoffman of Mammoth Construction Homes. You can check out his website here. And, if you’d like to see their amazing home from last year you can do so on two previous blog posts. You can check out the exterior of the home here and you can check out the interior of the home here. (It’s their own personal home and they’ve recently put it on the market by the way if you’re interested in purchasing a house there.)
They had a couple of homes on the tour this year, both of which were favorites of ours. This one in particular was stunning although I don’t know if my pictures captured just how stunning it really is. Set high on the mountaintop it had one of the most spectacular views we’ve seen. We couldn’t help but stand on the balcony looking out at the panoramic beauty in absolute, jaw-dropping awe.
And, yes, it created a some serious log cabin envy.
I mean…..how would you like to wake up to this every morning????
And, walk out on this balcony to sip on your cup of coffee????
On the back side is a smaller deck that sort of hugs the mountainside…
Equally amazing……and cozy, cozy, cozy.
And, of course, this ain’t just any log cabin. Here’s the view of the family room from the balcony….
The stone fireplace with this cut log mantel….
These awesome doors throughout.
His wife, Wendy, decorated the place creating interesting “mountain-esque” vignettes throughout…
Hang a gander at all the details on these stairs….
This ceiling…..
And, these walls!
Even the laundry room has the same “rustic chic” character.
And, look at this log backsplash……cool, huh!
Yes, just amazing!
All of it…….everything about it – inside and out.
Ohhhhh to dream…….
Happy Decorating!!

Hi Sheri, I just stumbled upon your blog from the cowhide bench you pinned on Pinterest. I see you are a fan of rustic chic too. It must have been fun to actually go through this mountain lodge. And yes, coffee on that balcony would be heaven.
