I know I’m behind on my design blog of late, and apologies all around! I do intend to catch up, once I have time to breathe. I see light at the end of the tunnel so the time is drawing near when I can begin blogging again about interior design. Soon…..very soon!
But, I had to take a few minutes to blog about a cause very near and dear to my heart as well as my entire family’s hearts. Today is the official launch of Education Impact, a program designed to help educate and mentor Haitians, and teach them a new way of life, a new way of living. A life of education, empowerment and self-sufficiency. Check out their website here.
What started out as small mission trips to help small Haitian communities in various ways such as Bible school, etc. has resulted in a rapidly growing program to educate and mentor on a massive scale.
Seeing the spirit of the Haitian people along with the need that exists there deeply touched the hearts of those ministering to them on these trips. And, with this, came a deep yearning…..a deep desire to help these people on a much larger scale. It was from this heart of compassion that Education Impact was born.
You’ve heard it said feed “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” But, I have one step further……Educate a man how to provide for his family and they can, in turn, educate others who can provide for their families who can educate others and so on….and so on….and so on….
This is the goal of Education Impact: Education, Independence, Empowerment, Self-Sufficiency. Please check out the website: www.eihaiti.org to learn more. Or you can reach them at the address or email below:
